Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands is a unique place in the world, well known amon all nature lovers for the wide wildlife and biodiversity that co exists in this untouched paradise. This Archipelago is nothing more than a living museum of evolutionary changes. Free and fearless animals, different from any others found elsewhere, make visitors wonder about their very existence on our planet.

It is important for people to know that the UNESCO declared Galapagos as a World Natural Heritage Site in 1978 and subsequently a World Biosphere Reserve in 1985 therefore the Ecuadorian government has created diferent administrations to manage funds for the preservation of the Gaapagos Islands through the Galapagos National Park. Among many animals, different species of giant Galapagos tortoises are found here that gave the islands their name due to the similarity of their carapaces to a British riding saddle called Galapagos in Spanish.
